As many of you know, the Rift Valley Children' Village (RVCV) holds a special place in my heart - one that has kept me returning ever since my first stay back in 2014. With having to put a temporary pause on fundraising campaigns, this pandemic has begged us to creatively adapt to new approaches. I am excited to be participating in the #Doitfor102 challenge for the Tanzanian Children's Fund. The challenge calls for committing to a daily activity that can be done 102 times, second, or minutes each day all to celebrate the 102 incredible kids that call RVCV home. If there is one thing that I know for sure, the act of physically writing a letter has sustained connection to those around me over the years. For 14 days, me and fellow RVCV alum Ashby Brown have committed to write a total of 102 letters to friends, families, acquaintances... anyone! No matter how long the note...in what form… or to whom.

About Janine's #Doitfor102 Challenge

As such, I am hoping to raise $913 as a part of TCF's $250,000 goal - 9/13 marking the first day I arrived at the village back in 2014, and the first day I met my friend Ashby. If you are unable to contribute, all I ask is that you join my endeavor to "send it forward" by writing a letter to someone else in return. The most precious gift we can offer is a conscious intention to cultivate more meaningful connection, and we can together do that through the simple act of letter writing. After all, is there anything more delightful than opening the mailbox and seeing an envelope personally addressed to you? Your donation will be 100$ tax deducible!
