The Rift Valley Children’s Village (RVCV) and the work that is done by the Tanzanian Children’s Fund (TCF) is something that is very special to me. I first went to RVCV in 2018 for a medical mission for what was supposed to be a 4 week trip. I loved it so much that I wound up staying 8 weeks and forever became a part of the RVCV family. TCF provides a forever home and family to marginalized children while also providing quality education, free medical care and economic opportunity for a community of 10,000 in Northern Tanzania.

For all the children of the world, may they be raised to be wise and ethical to meet and solve the challenges of the world. I may not ever be able to meditate, but I will think upon this wish for baby James, his new cousins and the children of the RVCV.

In solidarity with you and the Tanzanian orphanage, I will also pledge to meditate at least 10 minutes a day - the world is crazy and we all need to take time to reflect on how we can help make it a better place.

About Mary Alaina Burbage DoItFor102

I’m so excited to be participating in the #Doitfor102 challenge for the Tanzanian Children’s Fund. The challenge calls for committing to a daily activity that can be done 102 times, seconds, or minutes each day all to celebrate the 102 incredible kids that call RVCV home. For 14 days, I’ve pledged to meditate for at least 10.2 minutes per day. I tried to meditate daily while in Tanzania, which helped me to reflect on my time there and ground me to the mission. As you likely know, our family recently expanded with the birth of my son James. Finding time for myself during the day is difficult, but I look forward to setting aside this time for myself and for RVCV. My goal is to raise $5,000 as part of the $250,000 goal. No donation is too small (or too big!). Thanks so much for taking the time to consider this. Much like the community around TCF, I am so grateful for the love, encouragement, and support that I can always count on from all of you.
