The Tanzanian Children’s Fund and Rift Valley Children’s Village (RVCV) have a special place in my heart. The organization attacks poverty in Tanzania’s rural Oldeani Ward from all angles: its programs address health needs, provide high-quality education, offer critical microfinance loans, and so much more. And they provide a forever home for 102 marginalized children. Getting to know these children over my 3 trips to RVCV so far has been one of the absolute highlights of my life.

Olivia, this is wonderful -- and for a wonderful cause! -- Elizabeth and David Herrington

About Olivia’s #Doitfor102

I’m so excited to be participating in the #Doitfor102 challenge for the Tanzanian Children’s Fund. The challenge calls for committing to a daily activity that can be done 102 times, seconds, or minutes each day all to celebrate the 102 incredible kids that call RVCV home. For 14 days, I’ve pledged to study Swahili for 10.2 minutes/day. I so loved learning Swahili in college, and listening to the Swahili BBC radio or other such reviewing always reminds me of the RVCV kids and makes me extra excited to get back to East Africa as soon as possible. My goal is to raise $500 as part of the $250,000 goal. No donation is too small (or too big!). Thank you so much for considering! It means the world to me to be able to support all that the Tanzanian Children’s Fund does.
